Totally Gorjuss!

Got my Gorjuss stamps (from Sugar Nellie) in the other day, and they truly are just gorgeous! I haven't put them down yet ;o), and they've helped me out of my inspiration slump. Also, they keep me busy between job-hunting and rejections...my own personal pep-squad!

Although they're all gorgeous, this one's my favourite...shhh, don't tell the others!

I made this box, containing chocolate caramels, for Tracy over at Funky Kits (where they sell the Sugar Nellie range), she's broken her ankle and needs cheering up!

A versatile stamp, you can use it with the bird sitting next to this Gorjuss girl, or without, as I have done here.

Creativity Galore :D!

Hi everyone! I've had a very busy weekend, crafting and having a ball :D. Don't know what the weather was like over where you live, but over here it was rain, rain and oh, more rain! Perfect weather to finish the project I'd started during a craft club gathering a couple of weeks ago! It was so much fun, and Carmen had thought of a great project for us, but what a lot of work...if I ever have another week to spare, I might make another though, they're great fun :D! Without further delay, here's what I made of it:

II also found time to play with one of the ten (!) stamps from the brand-spanking new Whiff of Joy stamp kit, featuring the very talented Elisabeth Bell's stamps: so hard to choose which one to use first! The kit contains five girlie stamps and a boy stamp, and some accessory stamps: it's divine :D. The stamps will be available individually later this week, for those of you who didn't get the chance to pre-order the kit ;o)

Happy New Year!

First of all I want to wish you all a very happy, healthy and crafty 2009! I hope all your wishes come true this year and that it's going to be a truly fantastic year for all of us :D! Secondly, I want to share with you one of my New Year's resolutions (and believe me, the list is loooong)... I've been blogging for about two years now, and haven't really participated in any challenges whatsoever...sure, I've done some of the challenges but not actually participated: how silly is that!

So, to rectify this I'm starting with the brand-spanking new challenge blog The Sugarbowl, who launched their first challenge on the 1st of this year with a great prize: go see for yourself :D! The challenge was a sketch by Tiets, and this is my take on it:



Then, as most of the challenge blogs are still on Christmas break, I found a nice, easy one on the Penny Black blog, so I'm set for this week ;o). The challenge was to use embossing, and this is my entry:

And of course my Magnolia stories will also continue in 2009, for those of you who enjoy them ;o). This card qualifies for the Papertake Weekly challenge, which is Seeing Spots :D

Meet Erica The Elf (I named one after myself for a change ;o)) She lives on the edge of the Animal Forest in a cute little cottage, where all the inhabitants of the forest are always welcome. Whenever there's someone at the door the little bell on her hat starts tinkling and that makes everyone feel happy :D. Erica is also the unofficial vet for the Animal Forest (have you tried paying a vet with leaves and nuts? They generally don't accept them...) and she cures all of them, whether they've eaten too many nuts and have stomach ache, or eaten the wrong kinds of berries or fallen out of the tall trees whilst doing their acrobatics :D They pay her with cuddles and scare away any intruders from the cute little cottage...of course they also scare away her dates, but Erica just reckons that the one who will eventually persevere must be THE ONE ;o)!

Time Well Spent...

Did I ever have a great vacation! I made cards, lazed around watching DVDs, had a fun day with a bunch of card-making addicts ;o), went shopping: it rocked! Unfortunately work's been so busy that I need another vacation already (no time off will go unpunished, *lol*), but luckily it's the weekend, so that'll do for now ;o) Anyway, here's some of the stuff I made:

Meet Cupcake Chloe, who helps Matilda Muffin make all the treats for the orphans and children in hospital. They've gotten so busy, with orders from companies and for parties, that they're looking for a small shop where extremely allergic Matilda can make all the goodies in a sterile space and Chloe can sell everything in the shop! Of course they'll also still keep making treats for the children, out of the goodness of their hearts ;o)

Now, do you remember the girl who went to France to stay with her cousin and got herself a make-over? She's also called Matilda ;o), and we are now a few months on and Matilda is getting very much above herself. The more she gets whistled at in the street, the more airs and graces she gets... The other day she was walking along with her nose so high in the air and her sunglasses on, she walked straight into a street lantern! That bump made her realise that she needed to start acting normal pretty sharpish, so now she's a sweet girl again, still very fashion-conscious but a whole lot nicer!

I'm such a baaaaad blogger...;o)

What with work, the challenge blog and a million other things, I've been ignoring this blog...I hope you haven't all deserted me ;o) Anyway, I'm back with some cards to show you, and I promise to post more regularly from now on!

I got loads of new stamps over the last few weeks, some at the stamp fair in Germany and some totally cute bears from The Glitter Pot in England (I have some well-travelled stamps, I tell ya ;o)). Here are my cards, and a project from our very first challenge:

This is Matilda Muffin :D. Matilda is allergic to just about everything the outside world has to offer: grass, dust, exhaust fumes etc. etc. That's why she's kind of stuck in the house all day, and in order to make herself feel more useful she makes muffins for children in hospitals and orphanages. She's sponsored by the local bakery, who deliver all the ingredients for her yummy muffins every morning, and in the afternoon volunteers from the hospital come and collect the muffins to give out to all the children. Isn't that nice of her? I must say, that muffin does look good enough to eat!

Card-making weather ;o)

Well, it was nice card-making weather over here the past two days, so I made three cards :D! The third one wasn't completely to my liking, so I can't show it yet, but here's the fruits of my hard work:





Meet Stubborn Sarah, who has been pleading, moaning and begging to go to boarding school since she was nine. You see, the twin girls from the Enid Blyton books she reads go to boarding school, and it just sounds like so much fun! Well, her parents have finally given in and now she has a stack of uniforms and other school stuff ready to take with her after the summer holidays. She's been enrolled for the last few school weeks of this term, just to see if she likes it, and goes home on the weekends. But truth be told, it's not as great as in the books, and she really misses her mum when she's away at school...of course, she can't admit that she'd rather stay home, because she's Stubborn Sarah, after all! ;o)

Ik heb heerlijk gefreubeld, zoals jullie kunnen zien :D! Bovenste kaart met een Magnolia afdrukje van Inge (thanks Ing, je ziet het, het is niet voor niets geweest ;)) en K&Company papier, middelste kaartje met wederom een Magnoliaatje ;), een tekststempel van Aud en PaperSalon papier (om te snoepen :D!) en het onderste kaartje heb ik voor m'n tweelingsis Christa gemaakt, met KI Memories papier en een gaaf Stampin' Up! stempelafdrukje :D!

I've been busy making cards these last few days, as you can see :D! The top one was made with a stamped picture I got from Inge (thanks Ing, as you can see, it's being used already ;)) and K&Company paper, middle card is another Magnolia ;), with text stamp from Aud and PaperSalon paper (to sink your teeth into, yummy!) and the bottom card is the one I made for my twinsister Christa, with KI Memories paper and a lovely Stampin' Up! stamp :D!
