Some Sassy Cards and Blog Hop Winner :D

Hello all, I've been a bit remiss in posting, have had a busy few weeks but hopefully the worst of that is over now and I can relax again :D. I did find time to play with my Sassy stamps for the Simply Sassy Inspiration Blog and this is what I came up with:

Isn't she pretty, sitting there waiting for spring to arrive? She longs to chase butterflies, pick flowers and feel the sun on her face again after a long winter! This pattern is from SplitCoastStampers, at least that's where I found it. Really easy to make and it looks so complicated!

Materials used:

Stamps: Simply Sassy "Hippie Chick"; sentiment by Papertrey Ink
Paper: Bazzill Basics cardstock white, kraft; Paper & Pictures "The First Collection" DP Embellishments: Kars adhesive pearls
Tools: MFT Die-namics flower trio, doily and butterflies; Martha Stewart leaf punch
Copics:
E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks, lips)
E44, E43, E42, E41 (hair, shoe)
BG0000, BG01 (clothes, flowers, headband, legwarmers, eyes)

You know how you get started on a project and you're having so much fun and it just saddens you when you finish it? I had that with these notebooks, which were designed by my friend Monique for our challenge blog a while ago. They are so easy to make and so fun to give away! I'm giving one to a colleague, who was browsing through my blog, stumbled upon an earlier version I'd made and wanted one too...after weeks of her dropping not-so-subtle hints I've finally decided to give in, and here they are (be warned: picture overload *lol*):

Now this cutie pie has to be teacher's pet doesn't she, I'm surprised she's not carrying a shiny new apple for the teacher...although it might be in her lunch pail ;o). I love this Sassy for her big glasses, hair which is a dream to colour (I have hair colouring problems sometimes, but not with this one :D!) and her funky legwarmers. And don't even get me started on those shoes, Krista has done it again! They look like the kind that tone your legs and other bits when you walk don't they, what are they called again?

Materials I used:
Stamps:
Simply Sassy "High School Student"; sentiments by Papertrey Ink and Kaisercraft Paper: Elzybells kraft cardstock; My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose: Hazel Collection Embellishments: Zva Creative swirls and pearls
Tools: Stampin' Up! punch; MFT Die-namics
Copics: E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks, lips)
Y28, E53, E50 (hair)
E44, E43, E42, E41 (dress, shoes, books, glasses, hearts)
BG10, BG11 (eyes, hairclip, tunic, legwarmers, lunchpail)

If you want to make this notebook cover yourself, the description (in Dutch and English) can be found HERE. This cover holds an A6 notepad and can be easily adapted for the Post-It notes.

And now for the blog hop winner, thank you all so much for joining in with the hop, hope you had a great time and were inspired to get your Sassy stamps out and have a play!

The winner of the surprise prize, which includes a Simply Sassy stamp, is...

Annelies

Congratulations Annelies! Please e-mail your address to me at erica_everaers@hotmail.com and the prize will be sent to you a.s.a.p.!

That's all I have for your today, thank you for stopping by and see you soon!

Simply Sassy Sunday!

Good morning, it's that time of the week already when I show my contribution on the Simply Sassy Inspiration Blog. Why do the weekends go by so fast eh? I would love some more card-making time of a week, but unfortunately that won't pay the bills so it's back to work we go tomorrow ;o).

For my card today I have used Star Dust, and this adorable Sassy is available from Funky Kits HERE. Like with all the Simply Sassy stamps, this one too can be used for many occasions! I have chosen to put her on a Stair Step Card, there are many different variations on this card, and this is one of my faves :D.

As I don't have all the Copic colours (yet ;o)) I couldn't match the reddish pink in the paper so I paperpieced a lot of her clothes. A huge thanks goes to whoever first came up with the brilliant paperpiecing idea, which ensures that you can always have the perfect colour combinations on a card :D!

I haven't used a lot of embellishments, it's not my style for one and for another, these cards aren't huge so I think there's quite enough on there already ;o). I will decorate the inside as well though, I reckon that'll be just the right finishing touch :D!

Materials used:

Stamps: Simply Sassy "Star Dust"; sentiment from Papertrey Ink; Stempelglede
Paper: Bazzill Basics cardstock cream; Kaisercraft design paper "English Rose"
Embellishments: Zva Creative pearl swirls; Kaisercraft pearls
Tools: EK Success Retro Flower Punches; Magnolia Doohickey border die
Copics:
E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks)
E49, E47 (hair)
E41 (gloves, socks, stars)
YG95 (eyes, leaves)

That's all from me, hope you get some nice crafty time today as well, see you soon!

Hugs,
Erica

Here's One I Made Earlier ;o)

I just realised I completely forgot to share this card with you, I made it for the current challenge over on Double Dutch Challenges, which is "Love Is In The Air". The prize is a lovely Magnolia stamp from the new collection, so go have a look and join in the fun :D!

Things may go a little quiet here over the next week or so, as I have an airway infection and don't have a lot of energy at the moment. But when I come back I plan to celebrate my blogoversary (4 years on the 11th!) with a little sweet candy, so watch this space!

Materials used:

Stamps:
Magnolia; Papertrey Ink; Stempelglede
Paper: BBP black, red, white; BoBunny
Embellishments: Kars adhesive pearls; Heidi Swapp Ghost Shape
Tools: EK Success Retro Flower punches
Copics:
E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks);
E50, E51, E53, Y28 (hair);
W1, W3, W5 (shoes, shirt, shading);
R27 (hearts)

Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind comments, they are much appreciated! Take care, see you again soon :D

Simply Sassy Sunday

Hi blog friends, hope you're having a great Sunday and that you're getting some crafting time in! I've been at the Simply Sassy stamps again, they're just irresistible ;o) Here I've used the lovely Windswept stamp from the new set of ultra-fabulous Simply Sassy girls. It's available from Funky Kits HERE. Now, this girl has hair like I've always wanted but haven't had for...ooooh some 28 years now (showing my age aren't I ;o)). I'm thinking she is waiting for her boyfriend to come back, he's in the navy and she's meeting him on the quayside in her cutest outfit (don't you just love those shoes! Wish they made those in my size...).

Okay, that's enough prattling from me, let's get down to some details:

Stamps: Simply Sassy "Windswept"; text from Papertrey Ink
Paper: BBP green, pink, white; Kaisercraft "English Rose"
Embellishments: Zva Creative pearl swirls; Kars adhesive pearls
Tools: Martha Stewart PATP "Swirling Lace"; EK Success Retro Flower punches; QuicKutz tab die; Heidi Swapp distresser
Copics:
E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks)
E50, E51, E53, Y28 (hair)
E25 (eyes)
R00, RV10 (clothes, shoes)

Wishing you have a lovely, crafty Sunday!

Simply Sassy Sunday

Hi everyone, hope you're having the same nice weather we're having over here in the Netherlands, it's lovely and sunny! Still cold though, so a great day for getting out your paper and stamps and making beautiful things right ;o) I had to clear out my craft room yesterday before I could do any more crafting, it had gotten to the stage where I'd make card after card after project after card and not had time to clear up, so I couldn't actually tell that my workspace used to be white shelving...;o) All good again now though, plus I filled two bags with goodies for some of my colleagues' kids, paying it forward so to speak!

Anyway, today is my first post on the Simply Sassy Blog, and this is the card I made for a little Sunday inspiration:

I'm hoping to get my new stamps in the mail next week, they're taking their time from Scotland...naughty Sassy girls probably stopped on the way to do some shopping I reckon ;o). So I used Fashionista again, and that wasn't a hardship believe me! She's a joy to colour, although she does get a bit fussy about which clothes she wants to wear ;o)

Materials
Stamps: Simply Sassy "Fashionista" by Sugar Nellie; Papertrey Ink sentiment
Paper: BBP white, brown, red; BoBunny "Crazy Love"
Embellishments: Kars adhesive pearls; ribbon from stash
Tools: EK Success Retro Flower punches; Fiskars border punch
Colour medium:
Copic markers E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks, lips); E50, E51, E53, Y28 (hair); RV10, RV21 (clothes, bows, shoes); E25 (eyes)

That's all from me for now, thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Erica

Happy 2011!!

Let me start this long-overdue post by wishing you all a happy, healthy and crafty New Year! Hope 2011 is going to bring lots of joy and happiness :D The only New Year's resolution I've made is to MAKE MORE CHRISTMAS CARDS...as last year I made precisely one...how pathetic is that right?

It is a nice one though, if I do say so myself ;o):

I had a little vacation last week and in between long lie-ins and general lazing about I made a few cards, loved pottering about in my craft room with the Magnolia girls ;o). What with December being a rather hectic month I hadn't done any crafting for a looooong time and was starting to get withdrawal symptoms...now I'm just bummed I have to go to work tomorrow...if only card-making could be turned into a full-time, well-paid job ;o)

Anyway, without further ado, here they are:

Materials used:
Magnolia stamp, unknown sentiment stamp, Magnolia papers, Prima flowers, rose, starburst punch, Nestabilities circles, QuicKutz holly die, Zva Creative adhesive pearls

Magnolia stamp, Creative Cafe rub-on sentiment, DCWV paper "Linen Closet", Kaisercraft and Zva Creative pearls, Nestabilities, EK Success Retro Flower punches

Magnolia stamp, Creative Cafe rub-on sentiment, My Mind's Eye paper "So Sophie", Prima and other flowers, Jillibean Soup button, BoBunny brads, Zva Creative swirls, Heidi Swapp ghost shape

Magnolia stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, My Mind's Eye and BoBunny papers, Prima flowers, Kaisercraft pearls, Heidi Swapp ghost shapes, Martha Stewart leaf punch

Right, that's my update, hope you are all well and enjoying this wintry weather we've been having ;o) I hope to be back next week with more to show you, must make that a New Year's resolution as well: update blog more than once every two months...

Erica

Soooo Cute :D!

Yesterday I tried my hand at making my own design paper...and I must say, apart from having to learn "less is more" I'm not all that dissatisfied with the outcome :D. Also love the cute bear, who is a gift from my friend Moon, thanks hon!
I made this card for the new challenge over on Double Dutch, which is to make your own DP ;o). And the doorhanger is for the new challenge over on Whiff of Joy (these seem to be the only two challenges I have time for these days...ah well, summer vacation's coming up :D!)

The label is attached to the doorhanger with a magnet and the spare ones click onto the back of the hanger. Quite nifty, if I do say so myself...;o)

Supplies used:
DP made using Papertrey Ink stamps and Elzybells Art Stamps ink and kraft cardstock, the lovely image is from Lily of the Valley, the string, charm and pearls are from stash, the heart is a Ghost Shape from Heidi Swapp

Whiff of Joy stamp, Fancy Pants "Road Show" paper, EK Success Retro Flower Punches, Zva Creative pearls, string, printed text labels

That's all from me this week, hope to have more to show you next week. Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!

Perfect Match :D

For the new challenge over on Double Dutch the DT has created some fabulous matchbook cards, really fun to make, a little more work but then you do have a really special card for a really special someone ;o). How much do you love these new images by Mo Manning? Meet Blueberry Girl and Strawberry Girl, or in this case Grape Girl and Weird Turquoise Strawberry Girl...hey, I wanted to use THIS paper (because I never use it, *lol*) and so they had to have fruit to match ;o)

And this second card is for the new challenge over on Whiff of Joy, which is fuzz...yes you read it right, you have to include felt, flower soft or anything that makes the card "stroke-able" (I know that's not a word ;o)). I've never worked with felt before but like its flexibility, so I'll be getting myself some more colours :D! Any excuse to shop right...

Materials used:
Stamps by Mo Manning, sentiments by Papertrey Ink, paper by MME, flowers by EK Success Retro Flower Punches, pearls by Joy! Crafts and Kaisercraft, string from stash

Stamps by Whiff of Joy and Magnolia (background), sentiment by Whiff of Joy, paper by MME, flowers by EK Success Retro Flower Punches, pearls by Zva Creative, kisses made with a QuicKutz die and leaves with a Marianne Design CreaTables die, felt and rose from stash

That's all she wrote folks, hope you have a lovely week, thank you for stopping by and see you soon!

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssss!

The reason for this post title you ask? Well, today my temporary job turned into a permanent one, as of 1 August I am no longer a temp! Took me six long years...reason for a celebration I say...now where did I put that glass of wine? ;o)

Anyway, made some cards at the weekend, despite the hot weather it was nice to be creative in my swelteringly hot craft room, I can honestly say these cards were made with sweat (though no blood and tears ;o)). The first one is for the challenge on Whiff of Joy, which is a terrific sketch by Bev and I've used one of my all-time favourite images on it, the adorable Willow with Cookies. The second one is for the challenge on Double Dutch, which is also a sketch :D. If you're like me and you like making a card sometimes without having to think up a layout, go check out these challenge blogs (links in my sidebar).

Materials used:
Whiff of Joy and Magnolia stamps, Papertrey Ink sentiments, DCWV paper stack "The Linen Closet", Zva Creative pearls, EK Success Retro Flower Punches, McGill leaf punch, roses, brads, twine

That's all from me for this week, I'm off to watch Private Practice :D!

A Verrrry Productive Weekend ;o)

The weather over here wasn't very remarkable this weekend, windy, rainy and not a lot of sun-ny ;o), so I put my time to good use and made me some cards :D.

We had a training at work during the week (Covey training, for those of you who are familiar with it) and I made two cards to thank the colleagues who gave the training. My brother had a birthday on Friday (I know, I'm late...) and as he's into video games he gets Video Boy! And last but not least, this first card is for Mo's Digital Pencil challenge, which is to make an easel card :D.

Materials used:
Mo Manning digi stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiments, My Mind's Eye "So Sophie" paper, Kaisercraft pearls, Prima Marketing flowers, roses, Heidi Swapp Ghost Shapes, buttons, string

Mo Manning digi stamp, CC Designs sentiment, Fancy Pants "Road Show" paper, EK Success Retro Flower punches, McGill leaf punch, brads, Zva Creative pearls, QuicKutz leaf die

Football Fever

With the World Championship almost upon us football fever has nearly reached its pitch in our small country by the sea. There are whole streets decorated with orange flags (orange is the colour of the Dutch team...their shirts, not their faces ;o)) and other paraphernelia and even whole houses wrapped in orange plastic! I wouldn't mind so much, but those blasted flags keep me awake at night when they're blowing in the wind! On the plus side, on Monday we get to watch the match on a big screen at the office and root for our team :D! I wonder if it's this mad in all countries involved in the championships, but I imagine it is ;o)

Anyway, on to my cards for this week. I made a round easel card "just because" and a birthday/Father's day card for my stepdad. I think I did better than last year, at least this one has a stamped image on it ;o) My stepdad recently bought a boat and I didn't have any appropriate stamps for that, but this one will do...the boat is small but it is there, on the horizon ;o)

Materials used:
Sassy Cheryl's digi stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, MME "Be Loved" paper and die-cut, EK Success Retro Flower punches, string, Zva Creative pearls, Heidi Swapp Ghost Shape

Magnolia stamp, Daisy Bucket sentiment, MME paper, QuicKutz star die, ribbon, string, button, pearls, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circle and Classic Scalloped Circle

That's all she wrote folks, enjoy your week and thank you for your visits and lovely comments, they are much appreciated :D!

With Love

For Mother's Day this year I decided to make something a little special, to show my mum how much I appreciate her and love her for always being there for me :D. I made a picnic basket with a matching card, don't know what I'm going to fill the basket with yet but probably something chocolatey and yummy ;o)

Materials used:
CC Designs stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, ribbon and template, BoBunny paper, EK Success retro flower punches, Zva Creative pearls, McGill leaf punch, brads

I received this lovely Sunshine Award from Willy the other day, thank you so much Willy, it's beautiful! I'm supposed to pass this on to 12 people but as everybody already seems to have it...I won't ;o)

Having finally put away my winter clothes I'm off now to get them back out of the attic, it's freezing again over here! Hope the weather is better where you are, have a lovely week and thank you for stopping by!

It's All Very Challenging ;o)

Hi everyone, hope you're having lots of sunshine and good times where you live too, I've been soaking up the sun this weekend and have gotten quite a nice tan :D! Also found time to make a card, it's from a Friday Sketchers challenge that was two weeks ago but I just loved the sketch so much that I decided to make it anyway, even though it's a little on the late side ;o).

For the Double Dutch blog the challenge is to make a box with the pattern provided by yours truly, it's really fun and a good size for a teeny tiny present such as baby socks (in this case) or a gift certificate :D!

List of Ingredients:
Belles 'n' Whistles stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, MME "Be Loved" papers, Elzybells button, string, charm, EK Success Retro Flower Punches

Imaginisce papers, QuicKutz rattle die, string, charm

That's all she wrote for now, thank you for stopping by and have a lovely week!

Hugs,

Yesssss :D!

Had a good weekend, creatively speaking ;o) and I made three cards. No Easter cards though, I either don't like my new Magnolia Easter stamps (hahahaha, like that could ever happen!) or I have Easter-block. Maybe I need to start on the great big chocolate Easter egg that's been sitting on my counter top for four days now, still intact (it's a miracle I tells ya!)...

But enough about bunnies, eggs and what not, here are my three cards, made with the lovely, scrumptious and absolutely delicious S.E.I. "Juliette" papers. Can you tell I likey? ;o)

This card is for the new challenge over on Double Dutch, which is a sketch :D

List of Ingredients:
StampAvie stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, S.E.I. papers, QuicKutz flower die, Zva Creative adhesive pearls
Hänglar & Stänglar stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, S.E.I. papers, QuicKutz flower die, Zva Creative adhesive pearls

Sassy Cheryl's digi stamp, Hero Arts sentiment, S.E.I. papers, QuicKutz flower and ladybug dies, Zva Creative adhesive pearls, Martha Stewart border punch

That's all from me this week, thank you for stopping by and have a great week!

Izzy Wizzy, I've Been Busy!

So busy that I forgot to take a picture of three of the cards I made this week, so I'll show them next week (it's my vacation you see, haven't had to use my brain much ;o)). I made a card on each day of my vacation except, ironically enough, last Saturday when I went to a card-making day...I just chatted and caught up with friends all day, I didn't make a thing!

Anyway, here's two I made earlier, the one with Video Boy is for the Double Dutch Challenge, which is "Boys Only". It is also for my nephew's birthday, which is in July, so I'm rather impressed that that's done already! Trust me, it will be the only card which gets made well in advance this year, the rest of them will be the usual last-minute-panic-cards ;o) I don't know what's happened to my photography skills, such as they are...the pictures look awful, but you can see through that right? ;o)

Materials used:
Mo Manning digital stamp, Elzybells Art Stamps sentiment, My Mind's Eye "Be Loved" paper, EK Success Retro Flower punches, Zva Creative pearls

Mo Manning digital stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, Three Bugs in a Rug paper, QuicKutz fastener die, Pebbles Inc. Candy Dots, brads

That's all she wrote folks, more to show you next week (I'm on a roll!). Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely week!

Hello Mojo ;o)

Wow, two posts in one day...I don't think that's ever happened on my blog before! Anyway, my mojo is back you'll be pleased to hear (well, I was pleased anyway ;o)) I had a big clear-out of my craft room, got to know all the stuff I have again and hey presto, an idea was born. I took my favourite paper (well it used to be, but I don't like their new lines much) and my favourite stamps (still Magnolia :D) and set to work. I have the week off and have been making a card a day since Saturday!

Materials used for all cards:
Magnolia stamps, sentiments by Papertrey Ink, CC Designs and Stamping Bella, Chatterbox paper, Zva Creative pearls, EK Success Retro Flower punches, charm, Elzybells Art Stamps buttons

They may be simple but at least it's a start, and I'll have enough birthday cards on hand for the time being ;o). Have a lovely week, thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!!

I wish you all a happy, healthy and creative 2010, and want to thank you for all your visits and kind comments over the past year, they mean so much! I have a looooooong list of New Year's resolutions, and among the items on the list are starting my Christmas cards early ;o) and making more visits to all your blogs, I was such a bad blogger in 2009, it's embarrassing...

Here's the first card for 2010, not a Christmas one yet but I'm working on that ;o) I'm actually in the mood to make Christmas cards now, as it is I just took down the tree and decorations today, but the weather (snowy) is just right for those kinds of cards :D. So watch this space...

Materials used:
Mo Manning digi stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment, BoBunny paper "Love Bandit", EK Success Retro Flower punches, Doodlebug brads, Joy! Crafts pearls

That's all from me for now, have a lovely weekend, thank you for stopping by and see you soon :D!

Baby It's Cold Outside ;o)

There's about ten inches of snow over where I live, and in a country that's used to that amount of snow it might not seem much, but everything's ground to a halt here. Yesterday those of us who did not live in the city were sent home after lunch because the forecast was for even more snow, so I spent the afternoon on the couch, watching TV, drinking tea and generally being very happy I didn't need to go outside!

Just woke up to check if the trains are running again, otherwise it won't be worth it to get ready for work. I'll call my manager in an hour or so and see if he expects me to come in today, hope he says no ;o)

Anyway, I promised you some Christmas cards so here they are. Made about twenty of these, and although they are definitely not my style they were very easy to make and a good solution to the oh-no-is-it-Christmas-again-already-I-don't-have-any-cards-yet problem ;o)

The top one was copied straight out of a magazine, nice 'n' easy ;o)

Materials used:
Kraft cardstock, Jillibean Soup and Basic Grey paper, string, Papertrey Ink stamps, Joy! Crafts pearls, Fiskars Border Punch

Right, must go see if I can wangle the day off ;o), have a nice day and a great weekend and thank you for stopping by!

Erica

Notebook Purse

I went to Belgium over the weekend (more about that next week) so haven't really got a lot to show you, apart from this notebook purse that I made for the new challenge over on Double Dutch, which is to alter or make a purse :D I got the notebook a few years ago from a friend and finally made use of it...I'm a bit slow sometimes ;o)

Materials used:
Magnolia stamp, Papertrey Ink text stamp, MME paper Pretty Please, Prima Marketing flowers, Joy! Crafts pearls, brads, McGill twig punch

That's all from me this week, hope to have something more to show you next week! Thank you for stopping by and your lovely comments, they're much appreciated :D

Hugs,
Erica
