Simply Sassy Sunday!

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying your weekend! Today I'm showing you not one but two Sassy cards with my last set 7 stamps, as later we are starting sneek peaks for the new set, which will be released next week :D!

I've enjoyed working with these Steampunk Sassy girls, it's taken me out of my comfort zone and into a somewhat different style of card, and that's never a bad thing is it ;o). For my first card I've used Guinevere, I've kept things quite simple and to give it a vintagey feel I've distressed the edges of the design papers and added some flourishes.

For my second card I've used Boho Chic and an old sketch from Friday Sketchers, which is still one of my faves. Hope you likey!

Simply Sassy...eh...Monday ;o)

I'm such a dummy, completely forgot to post my Simply Sassy Sunday card yesterday...ah well, it's also good today ;o).

I absolutely adore this stamp, isn't Krista clever to think something like this up! She's way cool, just like Amelia used to be I reckon... (I mean the stamp, although obviously Krista is one cool chickie too! ;o)).

I've tried to go a little vintage with this, and with the acetate base card it seems the design paper is hovering in mid-air, which is kind of cool :D. I also used a really old stamp set which, in my opinion, counts as vintage ;o).

Simply Sassy Sunday

It seems all I do these days is bring you my Sassy cards once a week doesn't it...and although that's fun, I'm working on a new blog where I'll be showing you other things again too, watch this space!

Simply Sassy Sunday

Hi there! Hope you're all having a great weekend with nice weather and lots of fun things to do :D! I'm "recuperating" from two days of workshops (giving them, not taking part) and I'm pooped! Lots of fun though, it's never a problem to be in a room full of women (seriously, not a single man!) who share the same passion and who are committed to making the project you've put together for them :D

Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd never heard of steampunk right? Right? I had to google it first when I heard that the current fantabulous Simply Sassy set is the "Steampunk Collection" ;o) I hope I've done this little lady justice, to me this is vintage and that was the idea...

Simply Sassy Sunday!

Hi everyone, seems I'm a little behind in posting on here, I do apologise for being such a bad blogger...but I am in the process of creating a brand-spanking new blog and that takes a lot of time. You know how I say that the weeks are flying by? Well, this week went realllly slow, we had a national holiday here on Thursday and since then I've been a little out of sorts, getting my days muddled up... I've also got tomorrow off so hopefully I'll think to go to work on Tuesday ;o)!

Anyway, blablabla, I do go on don't I ;o) Today I made a little something different for you, using not one but three Simply Sassy cuties! Why do you ask? Well, there's a new release coming up (and can I just say the new stamps are beyond gorgeous!!) and I still had three stamps from the previous set sitting unused, uninked and unloved...no scratch that, never unloved ;o) on my worktop so decided to put together this card.

As the paper is quite busy I put all my embellishments on the front of the card and left the inside bare of everything but some labels and texts. I hope it works and that you likey!

The card I have to show you today could have been made for any one of half a dozen of my friends, who all live much too far away for my liking! But as I chose to live "up north" I guess I only have myself to blame ;o).

Isn't that green I used just awful? It seemed to match the papers but when I was done colouring it didn't match anything...ah well, better luck next time eh ;o)

Some Sassy Cards and Blog Hop Winner :D

Hello all, I've been a bit remiss in posting, have had a busy few weeks but hopefully the worst of that is over now and I can relax again :D. I did find time to play with my Sassy stamps for the Simply Sassy Inspiration Blog and this is what I came up with:

Isn't she pretty, sitting there waiting for spring to arrive? She longs to chase butterflies, pick flowers and feel the sun on her face again after a long winter! This pattern is from SplitCoastStampers, at least that's where I found it. Really easy to make and it looks so complicated!

You know how you get started on a project and you're having so much fun and it just saddens you when you finish it? I had that with these notebooks, which were designed by my friend Monique for our challenge blog a while ago. They are so easy to make and so fun to give away! I'm giving one to a colleague, who was browsing through my blog, stumbled upon an earlier version I'd made and wanted one too...after weeks of her dropping not-so-subtle hints I've finally decided to give in, and here they are (be warned: picture overload *lol*):

Now this cutie pie has to be teacher's pet doesn't she, I'm surprised she's not carrying a shiny new apple for the teacher...although it might be in her lunch pail ;o). I love this Sassy for her big glasses, hair which is a dream to colour (I have hair colouring problems sometimes, but not with this one :D!) and her funky legwarmers. And don't even get me started on those shoes, Krista has done it again! They look like the kind that tone your legs and other bits when you walk don't they, what are they called again?

Hi all, here I am again with some Sunday inspiration on this gorgeous sunny day (well, it is over here :D). Don't the weeks just fly by? I know I've said this before but it seems like five seconds ago since I was last here with my Sassy creation! These are about all I have time for right now, as I'm working on some cards for publication. It's always a joy to make a Sassy card though :D.

This little cutie patootie, who we'll call Patsy I think ;o), is on her way to the hair salon for some more highlights and then she's going to do some serious shopping! Looking this fabulous takes lots of pampering, time and any number of credit cards, don't you know ;o). How simply fabulous are those shoes she's wearing? I tell you, if Krista ever gets tired of designing the Sassy girls (which I hope she won't, obviously ;o)) she could easily go into shoe design and make a fortune!

Simply Sassy Sunday!

Good morning, it's that time of the week already when I show my contribution on the Simply Sassy Inspiration Blog. Why do the weekends go by so fast eh? I would love some more card-making time of a week, but unfortunately that won't pay the bills so it's back to work we go tomorrow ;o).

For my card today I have used Star Dust, and this adorable Sassy is available from Funky Kits HERE. Like with all the Simply Sassy stamps, this one too can be used for many occasions! I have chosen to put her on a Stair Step Card, there are many different variations on this card, and this is one of my faves :D.

As I don't have all the Copic colours (yet ;o)) I couldn't match the reddish pink in the paper so I paperpieced a lot of her clothes. A huge thanks goes to whoever first came up with the brilliant paperpiecing idea, which ensures that you can always have the perfect colour combinations on a card :D!

I haven't used a lot of embellishments, it's not my style for one and for another, these cards aren't huge so I think there's quite enough on there already ;o). I will decorate the inside as well though, I reckon that'll be just the right finishing touch :D!

Simply Sassy Release Blog Hop!

It is time for another Simply Sassy Blog Hop, as today sees the release of set 5, which is (if that is at all possible) even more gorgeous than the previous sets! I'm so excited to be able to introduce you to Hippie Love, one of the wonderful new characters in the latest release of gorgeous Simply Sassy stamps! If I had to pick a favourite, which luckily I don't because who can choose right ;o), then it would have to be this chickie. She's a joy to colour and her lovely, friendly, smiling face will be sure to brighten the day of whomever receives this card, I'm sure!

I have (once again, I know...) used Maja Designs papers, my trusty EK Success Retro Flower punches (very apt here I thought :D) and some cork, QuicKutz dies and a Martha Stewart punch. The corners of the image were stamped with a Stempelglede stamp and some distress ink, and I totally ruined the shading on the bottom but managed to salvage it pretty well I think, just don't enlarge this picture ;o).

I just realised I completely forgot to share this card with you, I made it for the current challenge over on Double Dutch Challenges, which is "Love Is In The Air". The prize is a lovely Magnolia stamp from the new collection, so go have a look and join in the fun :D!

Simply Sassy Sunday

Hi everyone, hope you're having a nice, relaxing Sunday! I got a little frustrated with this card because everything that could go wrong with it, did... Happy with how it turned out in the end, but not loving the little text label over the image. I actually stamped the text on the image, last thing I did, and then the acrylic block with the text stamp snagged on the flowers and, well...it wasn't pretty, let me put it that way ;o)

For this card I used the Spread Your Wings stamp, available from Funky Kits HERE, isn't she adorable? She's always bringing home stray or wounded animals, then she feeds them up and gets them healthy again and releases them back into nature. I reckon she wants to be a vet when she grows up ;o)

I used lots of punches and dies to create this classic black and white card. What with all the mishaps I didn't dare to punch the border on the red card, that would not have gone well I think...

Simply Scary...my first tutorial!

Simply Adorable ;o)

Hi, me again with another Simply Sassy card! Hope you're all enjoying a nice Sunday, it's a nice day for crafting isn't it ;o) This week I used the adorable Party Frills stamp, available from Funky Kits HERE. She looks a little sad, so I'm thinking she's missing someone, or maybe she had a silly fight with her best friend and is thinking of a way to make it up to her...who knows ;o)

I went for texture on this card in the form of the grass, which is made of felt and the embossed strip. I also pricked holes along the edges of the image and some of the DP, though that's not clearly visible in the photograph (it's not a nice day to take pictures...).

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That...

I had a very varied weekend stamping-wise, first with the Simply Sassy girl in the post below, then with Mo Manning's adorable "Mummu" and with one of the new (digi) stamps from CC Designs, Sweetheart Birgitta. Coupled with a request from a colleague to make a retirement card and the new Double Dutch challenge which is to create a WOW (White On White) card/creation I had my work cut out for me :D.

Don't know where I got these embossed papers/vellums from, this is one of the "treasures" I unearthed while cleaning out my craft room this weekend, and I'm glad I did! Using only one colour on a card is a challenge, so some embossing was definitely called for! This is the first time I've made a WOW card, and it won't be the last: it was easier than I expected and I think the card turned out very stylish (if you don't count the uber-adorably cute Birgitta that is ;o))

Isn't Mummu a character! I imagine she's walking away, waving at her colleagues and her boss and glad to be retiring at last, so she can spend time with her doting husband and lovely grandchildren ;o)

Simply Sassy Sunday

Hi everyone, hope you're having the same nice weather we're having over here in the Netherlands, it's lovely and sunny! Still cold though, so a great day for getting out your paper and stamps and making beautiful things right ;o) I had to clear out my craft room yesterday before I could do any more crafting, it had gotten to the stage where I'd make card after card after project after card and not had time to clear up, so I couldn't actually tell that my workspace used to be white shelving...;o) All good again now though, plus I filled two bags with goodies for some of my colleagues' kids, paying it forward so to speak!

Anyway, today is my first post on the Simply Sassy Blog, and this is the card I made for a little Sunday inspiration:

DT News!!

I can finally tell you some very exciting news: I have been asked to join the brand new, superduper Simply Sassy DT! Simply Sassy stamps are made by Sugar Nellie, the wee Scottish stamp company, and I've been a fan of their stamps for as long as they've been around! Of course I immediately accepted and for the past few days the excitement over our new and fabulous Simply Sassy blog has been building among the DT ladies, let me tell you ;o).

Let me start this long-overdue post by wishing you all a happy, healthy and crafty New Year! Hope 2011 is going to bring lots of joy and happiness :D The only New Year's resolution I've made is to MAKE MORE CHRISTMAS CARDS...as last year I made precisely one...how pathetic is that right?

It is a nice one though, if I do say so myself ;o):

I had a little vacation last week and in between long lie-ins and general lazing about I made a few cards, loved pottering about in my craft room with the Magnolia girls ;o). Long Time No See!

Well hello, it's been a while since I posted anything I see, hope you are all well! I had some issues with my craft room, first it looked like a bombsite because of the decorating I was doing, then my roof started to leak...it's all been yuk!. Anyway, I'm back into crafting mode, about time too...I haven't made any X-mas cards yet! Reckon they're going to have to be clean and simple and mass-produced this year (so what else is new right ;o))

Also, I turned 40 yesterday and it's not as bad as I thought it would be...actually it's not bad at all. And they do say that life begins at 40 so...bring it on! ;o)

I wasn't able to make any cards at the weekend, on account of the fact my craft room still looks like it's been hit by a hurricane, but I have an "oldie" to show you from a few weeks ago when we did the blog hop over on Double Dutch :D.

Isn't she the cutest?! The stamp is a digi from CC Designs, the gorgeous papers are from BoBunny, flowers were made with my trusty EK Success punches and I've also included a Heidi Swapp ghost shape. Even though they are ancient, I love using these to add that little extra ;D. The sentiment is from a Creative Cafe rub-on booklet, also ancient ;o)

Love Is In The Air :D

It's that time of year again: my mom and stepdad had their anniversary yesterday, my sister and B-I-L today (20 years already, that time has flown by!). Anyway, of course they were expecting, and received, a home-made card, even though I'm a little out of sorts as I've quit smoking and was finding it quite hard at the weekend without work to distract me and colleagues to keep me on the straight and narrow ;o) I've been smoking for twenty years (started a little before my sister's wedding in fact) so it was never going to be easy, but it had to be done ;o)

The top card is for my sister and her hubby, the bottom one for my mom and stepdad. My stepdad recently bought a boat so I thought these two Magnolia cuties quite fitting ;D

I also made this for the new challenge on Double Dutch (in a very beary mood this weekend, because I was like a bear with a sore head probably ;o)), which is to pick your favourite challenge from DDC#1 through to DDC#50 and recreate it.

Soooo Cute :D!

Yesterday I tried my hand at making my own design paper...and I must say, apart from having to learn "less is more" I'm not all that dissatisfied with the outcome :D. Also love the cute bear, who is a gift from my friend Moon, thanks hon!

I made this card for the new challenge over on Double Dutch, which is to make your own DP ;o). And the doorhanger is for the new challenge over on Whiff of Joy (these seem to be the only two challenges I have time for these days...ah well, summer vacation's coming up :D!)

The label is attached to the doorhanger with a magnet and the spare ones click onto the back of the hanger. Quite nifty, if I do say so myself...;o)

Perfect Match :D

For the new challenge over on Double Dutch the DT has created some fabulous matchbook cards, really fun to make, a little more work but then you do have a really special card for a really special someone ;o). How much do you love these new images by Mo Manning? Meet Blueberry Girl and Strawberry Girl, or in this case Grape Girl and Weird Turquoise Strawberry Girl...hey, I wanted to use THIS paper (because I never use it, *lol*) and so they had to have fruit to match ;o)

And this second card is for the new challenge over on Whiff of Joy, which is fuzz...yes you read it right, you have to include felt, flower soft or anything that makes the card "stroke-able" (I know that's not a word ;o)). I've never worked with felt before but like its flexibility, so I'll be getting myself some more colours :D! Any excuse to shop right...

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssss!

The reason for this post title you ask? Well, today my temporary job turned into a permanent one, as of 1 August I am no longer a temp! Took me six long years...reason for a celebration I say...now where did I put that glass of wine? ;o)

Anyway, made some cards at the weekend, despite the hot weather it was nice to be creative in my swelteringly hot craft room, I can honestly say these cards were made with sweat (though no blood and tears ;o)). The first one is for the challenge on Whiff of Joy, which is a terrific sketch by Bev and I've used one of my all-time favourite images on it, the adorable Willow with Cookies. The second one is for the challenge on Double Dutch, which is also a sketch :D. Two of my colleagues were born on exactly the same day in the same year and both celebrated their 25th birthday last Sunday, so this called for a creative gift of course! I made them a "milk carton" which I made at the Paper & Pictures Magnolia Event a couple of months ago, check it out :D!

Yesssss!!!

Told you she was a smarty pants didn't I, and she's gone and done it: my niece has passed her exams! We're all so proud of her, and it doesn't stop here: she's determined to get her driver's licence before she goes on holiday next month and has had 23 lessons so far since her birthday on 6 May...driven little madam isn't she ;o)

Anyway, I made this card for her at the same time as I made the card for my friend Natalie (see previous post), which is why it's the same image, same paper, well nearly same everything apart from the layout (hey, my niece may be driven, I'm still a lazy so-and-so!)

The second card is for the Double Dutch challenge, which is to make a card with this pattern. It's an oldie but a goodie :D!

A Verrrry Productive Weekend ;o)

The weather over here wasn't very remarkable this weekend, windy, rainy and not a lot of sun-ny ;o), so I put my time to good use and made me some cards :D.

We had a training at work during the week (Covey training, for those of you who are familiar with it) and I made two cards to thank the colleagues who gave the training. My brother had a birthday on Friday (I know, I'm late...) and as he's into video games he gets Video Boy! And last but not least, this first card is for Mo's Digital Pencil challenge, which is to make an easel card :D.

Football Fever

With the World Championship almost upon us football fever has nearly reached its pitch in our small country by the sea. There are whole streets decorated with orange flags (orange is the colour of the Dutch team...their shirts, not their faces ;o)) and other paraphernelia and even whole houses wrapped in orange plastic! I wouldn't mind so much, but those blasted flags keep me awake at night when they're blowing in the wind! On the plus side, on Monday we get to watch the match on a big screen at the office and root for our team :D! I wonder if it's this mad in all countries involved in the championships, but I imagine it is ;o)

Anyway, on to my cards for this week. I made a round easel card "just because" and a birthday/Father's day card for my stepdad. I think I did better than last year, at least this one has a stamped image on it ;o) My stepdad recently bought a boat and I didn't have any appropriate stamps for that, but this one will do...the boat is small but it is there, on the horizon ;o)

on my cards this week, what with the hearts and the lovely stamps, it's all just too cute :D! I do like using cute stamps on my cards, have tried making cards without them (mainly cards for men) but it's just not the same. Luckily there are so many great (digi) stamps for those difficult man cards around these days, I won't ever have to make a "clean and simple" card again ;o) Both my stepdad and my brother have their birthday in June, so watch this space, let's see if I can do better than last year!

Cute As Can Be!

I made this card for my niece, who is starting her exams tomorrow, just to wish her lots of luck! We're all sure she's going to do brilliantly, she's the smartypants of the family ;o), and then after the summer she'll start at fashion school, so exciting :D! We're a very creative family I suppose, although my niece is the only one who can turn her passion into her job (and maybe become a famous designer, who knows :D!)

And this card is just because...just because I love this stamp, and this paper, and just because you can never have enough birthday cards on hand right ;o)

Hi everyone, hope you're having lots of sunshine and good times where you live too, I've been soaking up the sun this weekend and have gotten quite a nice tan :D! Also found time to make a card, it's from a Friday Sketchers challenge that was two weeks ago but I just loved the sketch so much that I decided to make it anyway, even though it's a little on the late side ;o).

For the Double Dutch blog the challenge is to make a box with the pattern provided by yours truly, it's really fun and a good size for a teeny tiny present such as baby socks (in this case) or a gift certificate :D!

Had a good weekend, creatively speaking ;o) and I made three cards. No Easter cards though, I either don't like my new Magnolia Easter stamps (hahahaha, like that could ever happen!) or I have Easter-block. Izzy Wizzy, I've Been Busy!

So busy that I forgot to take a picture of three of the cards I made this week, so I'll show them next week (it's my vacation you see, haven't had to use my brain much ;o)). I made a card on each day of my vacation except, ironically enough, last Saturday when I went to a card-making day...I just chatted and caught up with friends all day, I didn't make a thing!

Anyway, here's two I made earlier, the one with Video Boy is for the Double Dutch Challenge, which is "Boys Only". It is also for my nephew's birthday, which is in July, so I'm rather impressed that that's done already! Trust me, it will be the only card which gets made well in advance this year, the rest of them will be the usual last-minute-panic-cards ;o) I don't know what's happened to my photography skills, such as they are...the pictures look awful, but you can see through that right? ;o)

Hello Mojo ;o)

Wow, two posts in one day...I don't think that's ever happened on my blog before! Anyway, my mojo is back you'll be pleased to hear (well, I was pleased anyway ;o)) I had a big clear-out of my craft room, got to know all the stuff I have again and hey presto, an idea was born. I took my favourite paper (well it used to be, but I don't like their new lines much) and my favourite stamps (still Magnolia :D) and set to work. I have the week off and have been making a card a day since Saturday!

Seriously though, this "mojo on vacation" thing is starting to get ridiculous! I had a three day weekend, and although I'm taking it easy because of some RSI symptoms in my right hand and wrist (it sucks big time, but after 16 years of being a secretary I'm just surprised it didn't happen sooner!) I only made this box...nothing else! I sat and stared at my stamps, paper and whatnot, and nothing came, no lightbulb moments for me this weekend ;o) Oh well, better luck next week!

Don't you just know it...I had a lovely long weekend with nothing planned so I was all set to do some serious card-making and...I made precisely nothing! Everything went wrong, didn't come together, looked plain ridiculous etc. etc., you know what I'm talking about right ;o) So in the end I gave up and lazed around a lot, which was also nice but not as nice as looking at a row of cards, feeling the satisfaction of a weekend well spent!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all of you, hope you have a lovely day with friends and family and get spoiled rotten ;o) We are celebrating Christmas on Boxing Day, so I'm taking it easy today, a little crafting, a little TV watching (some nice Christmas films on, and some great specials :D) and a lovely Christmas dinner later ;D! In the meantime I made a last-minute card this week and some cute labels for my pressies, we did a Christmas swap with some of the Double Dutch DT members and I actually managed to keep the presents wrapped until this morning, when I just had to open them (before I'd even had breakfast) and see what I got...I tell ya, I'm like a little kid sometimes ;o)

Here's the card I made, no idea why the picture is so yellow, must have been the snow ;o) Papers are from Kaisercraft, flowers are made with the EK Success retro punches and the text is Hero Arts, the image is Whiff of Joy.

Here's my present, I made four of these with BoBunny papers and embellishments, some ribbon and some cute stamped images inside. The lollipop is chocolate and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get one for myself, they look yummy...what was I thinking!

And here's what I got from Moon, Martine, Janneke and Joan! Some lovely goodies inside, thanks girls :D!

Baby It's Cold Outside ;o)

There's about ten inches of snow over where I live, and in a country that's used to that amount of snow it might not seem much, but everything's ground to a halt here. Yesterday those of us who did not live in the city were sent home after lunch because the forecast was for even more snow, so I spent the afternoon on the couch, watching TV, drinking tea and generally being very happy I didn't need to go outside!

Just woke up to check if the trains are running again, otherwise it won't be worth it to get ready for work. I'll call my manager in an hour or so and see if he expects me to come in today, hope he says no ;o)

Anyway, I promised you some Christmas cards so here they are. Made about twenty of these, and although they are definitely not my style they were very easy to make and a good solution to the oh-no-is-it-Christmas-again-already-I-don't-have-any-cards-yet problem ;o)

The top one was copied straight out of a magazine, nice 'n' easy ;o)

Last "normal" cards ;o)

Well, for a while anyway. As it's 18 days and counting till Christmas I reckon it might just be time to start on my Christmas cards... I can't send out bought ones, well, not to everyone anyway, because the peeps who know I make cards expect a homemade one. So I'll do the clever thing (yes, I have my moments :-p) and pick one or two designs and just start cranking them out (I hope ;o))

Anyway, I got these lovely images in a swap the other day and just had to use them right away! They're digistamps by Mo Manning from Mo's Digital Pencil. Luckily these images are also available as good old rubber stamps, because I do like to stamp them myself, easy though digistamps are :D.

This is an easel card, I just love these and want to thank whoever thought of this concept!

Busy Bunny ;o)

Sorry I've been such a bad blogger recently, I've just been so busy with work (did I tell you I got a year contract? Yay me!) and other stuff that it's all I can do to drag myself home at the end of the day (or night) and lie on the couch...I know right, how old am I again? ;o) Never mind, just need to find a rhythm and then I'll be fine again :D, the good news is from now on I'll have a three-day weekend every other week...aaah heaven!

Anyway, onto today's project: I finally finished my Belgium project! I went to Belgium at the end of October for a day of fun and crafting with about 40 other card-mad chicks! I rented a car, got a little lost (hey, it was 300-odd kilometres, it's a miracle I only got lost ONCE! I have such a bad sense of direction it's amazing I make it home every night ;o)) and had a great day making this box:

Happy Birthday To Me, A Card And An Award :D

It was my birthday last Saturday, I turned 39...so from now on I'll start counting down, next year I'll be 38 again and so on until I reach an age I can live with :-p Seriously though, I had a lovely day at the craft fair, bought some great goodies and got spoiled the night before as well by my family (I live 200 km away from them, so on my rare visits I always get spoiled ;o)).

I will be posting some blog candy in the next week or so, a belated birthday candy and also for 75,000 hits on my blog, so watch this space!

Notebook Purse

Fright Night!

It's such a shame we don't have Halloween in the Netherlands, I love it: the dressing up and begging for sweeties is right up my alley ;o) We do have "Sint Maarten" in certain parts of Holland, also where I live, when children make a lantern and go round all the houses singing a special song and they are awarded treats. I didn't know this when I first moved here twelve years ago, so when loads of kids showed up on 11 November I didn't have anything to give them but biscuits...I'm surprised they didn't egg my house ;o). Anyway, I do celebrate Halloween with a few friends in that we make Halloween cards for each other, here are some of my spooky creations:

More Of The Same...And An Award :D

Sorry I've been MIA, I've been busybusybusy with work stuff, but also found some time to make some long overdue gifts :D. I've used the same paper again, because it was still on my desk and because it's just so darn cute, but I promise I'll put it away now and use something else, so you can finally take off your sunglasses!

This one was made using the packaging of a Papertrey Ink stamp set, and is absolutely stuffed to the brim with Merci chocolates...seemed appropriate, as it's a "thank you" gift ;o)

And these two were made using a Timeless Template by the very talented Lauren Meader. The templates are sold via Papertrey Ink and are only five dollars for the pattern, instructions and a boatload of ideas! You can download the whole file straight away after you pay, and start crafting :D. The bottom one is the original pattern, with two pockets, the top one I altered so it can fit through a letterbox.

Now onto this lovely award I got from Coby, Femke and Janneke, thank you ladies!

It's another "tell all" award, you have to tell ten things about yourself and be completely honest...here goes:

1. Because I don't have a husband and children like most of my friends, I sometimes don't feel as "grown up" as I should, there's still a bit of a kid in me. Then I get to pay my mortgage and some bills and hey presto, all grown up again ;o)

2. When I was little I wanted to be a ballerina (didn't get into ballet college because of my back), a stewardess (not tall enough), a kindergarten teacher (don't know what happened there, that would have been fun! Kids love me, see 1 ;o)) and a hairdresser (my sister put paid to that, one hairdresser in the family was enough she said). Never ever ever did I say I wanted to be a secretary, yet that is what I am...

3. I suffer from foot-in-mouth disease: first I say what's on my mind, then I engage my brain. I'm working on improving that, but it's a hard habit to break after 38 years ;o)

4. I'm very impulsive, also not always a good quality...

5. I have a white streak in my hair, it's been there since my early twenties. My dad has exactly the same streak in exactly the same spot. Guess I'm not the milkman's after all eh ;o)

6. I've been dying my hair since my early twenties... ;o)

7. I wear contact lenses because I'm too vain to wear glasses. I only wear those when I'm home alone and the curtains are drawn!

8. I have an excellent memory for license plate numbers (picked that up when I was little, playing the license plate game while on the road with my dad, who was a truck driver) and telephone numbers, which is useful, but other than that my memory sucks and I'm the queen of the yellow post-its ;o)

9. I am the world's biggest procrastinator, and often have to finish stuff up in a hurry. I work even better under pressure though ;o)

10. I love to go to an online store, throw all sorts of lovely goodies in my basket (really fill it up, not with cheap stuff either!) and after half an hour or so just empty the basket and go to another site. It's a great kind of retail therapy as it doesn't cost anything and it really does help with the blues!

Right, that's enough honesty from me, reading back I see how vain I really am! Must do something about that too...;o) I won't pass this on to anyone as I think most people have the award already (yes, I know, I'm late again...) but if you don't, please feel free to take it and be totally honest, it's very therapeutic!

Get Your Sunglasses Out ;o)

I got a bit carried away with these cards, they are a little "loud" for my taste, but the paper was so lovely I couldn't stop piling it on! On the bright side (okay, the even brighter side) my cold is much better, cough is nearly gone and I don't sound like I'm at death's door anymore...when I was just a tiny wee thing I used to have terrible asthma, so now when I have a cold it really sounds more life-threatening than it actually is ;o) Serves me right for smoking I suppose...

Mission Impossible ;o)

The new challenge over on Double Dutch is to make a shape card. My intention was to make a heart card, but as I left it till the last minute (again!), and had the mother of all hangovers (I know, my own fault but totally worth it, it was a great party...I think ;o)) combined with the mother of all colds (some serious self-pitying going on here! On the plus side, I now have a very sexy voice ;o)) I made this hanger instead. I think it's cute, and hey, it is a different-from-normal shape, so that qualifies right? ;o)

Oops...

Wanna know how long my resolution lasted? Three days...you can stop laughing now ;o) I'm actually blushing as I sit here typing this, it's just too pathetic for words isn't it! But on Friday one of my colleagues asked me where she could buy a 3D frame, and I knew just the place: my favourite scrap store! So as she didn't have the minimum amount needed for free shipping I offered to order a little something as well so she wouldn't have to pay the EUR 6,75. Ended up costing me a lot more though ;o) As my friend Monique pointed out: it was an impossible resolution, like not eating chocolate for six months...after I'd made her wash her mouth out with soap, I had to agree with her, so I'm just going to try and cut back, instead of stopping altogether...more realistic, no?

Anyway, remember me telling you about my colleague who has worked for the company for 40 years, the one I made the gift card envelope for? Well, I made an album for her with the pictures from the celebration dinner, and here's an impression of it (this is not the whole album, my colleague asked me to show only group layouts on my blog, and of course I respect her wishes).

The labels contain personal messages from all the colleagues who attended the dinner

Now who is that hiding behind her hands...yes, that would be me! I need bigger hands I guess ;o)

Spot the obvious mistake...I corrected it before I gave her the album ;o)

Insomni-Card...

I've been having a little trouble sleeping these past few days, and have tried everything I could think of to just nod off already: drinking warm milk (yeugh!), counting sheep (that bleating really gets on your nerves after 45 sheep or so ;o)), vigorous excercise (has the opposite effect, wakes me up even more!), taking a hot bath...nothing works! So after several frustrating hours I just get up again and go make a card! This one is for the anniversary challenge over on Double Dutch, it's a fab challenge set by DT member Marja and I made not one, but four versions of it, none of them entirely to my liking...this one was made the day before the challenge and it's my favourite one of all. I'll tweak the other four during the sleepless nights to come (no doubt), and show them to you next week ;o)

Good Intentions...

Looking around at the mountains of paper, still waiting to be used, the avalanches of stamps, uninked as yet, and the boxes full of flowers, ribbon and embellishments, I have made my new year's resolution a little early this year...apart from when I go to the craft fair in November for my birthday (so, with birthday money, not "my own" ;o)) I'm not going to buy any more stuff for at least six months! Watch this space and see how long that resolution lasts ;o) Seriously though, it's ridiculous how much stuff I've accumulated in just five years of scrapping and stamping...but I'll bet I'm not the only one, right? ;o)

Anyway, I made this card for the new challenge over on Double Dutch, which is a sketch :D. This challenge is only on for a week, next Tuesday sees the first anniversary of our challenge blog which we're going to celebrate in style!

I received two awards, from Femke and Willy, thanks girls! Both awards require you to tell seven things about yourself...now let me think...

1. I am absolutely dreading my 40th birthday next year and am not planning to be in the country when the big day arrives...I am planning to be in denial about it though ;o)

2. I secretly love to watch Strong Man competitions and motor racing on TV...secretly, because it's not very girlie is it ;o)

3. I have been taking motor riding lessons for some months now, but because of my two jobs it isn't easy to find the time to keep it up. It's great fun though, and I am hoping to get my licence next year!

4. I think I might be experiencing an early mid-life crisis, because as well as the lessons I've also made an appointment to get a tattoo...it will be small, because I'm not into pain (I also hope my mum isn't reading this...oh well ;o))

5. It is absolutely impossible to take a good picture of me. The one at the top of my blog is a complete fluke and will stay there until the end of time! :D

6. I lived in England for six years, worked there as a nanny in a tiny little village with just the one road and of course the one pub ;o) The kidlets I took care of then are now 23 and 18...I feel old...again ;o)

7. I also worked in London as a secretary for an events company and met the Queen of England (hmmm, that should have been item 1 shouldn't it...)

8. I love books, absolutely devour them and I have a complete library at home of books I read again and again. I buy one or two new ones a month and will have to move house soon to accommodate the books ;o)

9. Like most women, I think, I love chocolate! Milk chocolate with nuts is my favourite, and I have to have some every day...it's quite astounding I'm not the size of a house...although I used to be ;o)

10. Over the last few years I have gradually lost 27 kg, or 59 lbs. I'm not there yet, but I feel sooooo much better already :D. Plus it's nice not to have to buy my clothes at the camping goods store anymore (you know, tents ;o))

Well, everything you always wanted to know about me but were afraid to ask ;o). I'm sticking to ten items, otherwise where's the mystery right ;o)

Da di dum dum dum

That title doesn't mean anything, I just didn't know what to call this post ;o) Although I suppose it could be a happy tune, as Minou had to go to the vet's today to have a tooth extracted (on her birthday as well!) and she seems to have come through the anaesthetic alright, though she still has a wobbly walk and glares at me every now and then ;o) Her appetite is back and she appears to be pain-free, though that may be a different story tomorrow, as I expect she's still high on painkillers...

Anyway, on to my cards and project :D. The cards are for my mum and stepdad and my sister and brother-in-law, who are both celebrating their wedding anniversaries this weekend (one couple on the 30th, the other on the 31st). The layouts are from an old Whiff of Joy challenge (still one of my favourite sketches) and from the Friday Sketchers challenge blog.

The box is for the new Double Dutch Challenge, which is Back In Time, meaning you can take your pick from the previous 24 challenges and recreate your favourite one :D. I chose the triangle box, easy to make and such fun to give! I'm going to put a bib in this one, it's for my colleague who had a baby girl a couple of weeks ago.

Hihihi, another round card! Had to make this in a hurry at the weekend, because the colleague I'm filling in for during her maternity leave had her baby last Friday, a month early! The little one is in an incubator until she can regulate her own temperature and has gained some weight, but everything is okay and of course her parents are over the moon, so that calls for a nice card :D

I found some extremely lovely, sumptuous cards on this blog and decided to make one of the cards as an exact replica for a friend who's just had a baby. Well, I went a bit overboard and one became three...they are just so easy to make and soooo lovely!

Also made an envelope for a gift certificate for my colleague, who's been with the company for 40 years...can you imagine, forty years! We're going out to dinner tomorrow night to celebrate and, whilst I think it's bad enough she's getting gift certificates (don't get me wrong, I love getting them myself but it always seems like such an "easy" gift doesn't it) I thought I should at least brighten them up a bit ;o). Teenie Tiny...

Isn't this little bag the cutest? Got the pattern via Create4Fun, along with the sketch for the card. Also made a gift card holder for the new Double Dutch challenge, so all in all I had a busy day on Sunday! As of course, on Saturday nothing went according to plan and I didn't produce a single thing...isn't that always the way? I'd cleared the decks, so to speak ;o), by doing the housework on Friday night and so I had all day Saturday after my riding lesson to make cards. Zip, zilch, nada, niente, absolutely nothing came out of my hands, and out of sheer frustration I gave up and took a nice long nap instead ;o).

Hi everyone, I made this teabag holder (originally by Beate) last weekend, it had been on my list of "crafty things to do" for a while (you do not want to know how long this list is ;o)) and I finally got around to it. It's on its way to someone special as we speak, she'll be able to have tea for six as I couldn't just put two tea bags in of course, that would be stingy wouldn't it! I even bought tea with yellow/green/pink bags to match the paper...yep, just call me crazy *lol*

Panic...

Okay, I now actually have TWO jobs! Started a full-time job on Monday this week for the next three weeks, and after that for two days a week while I do the other job three days a week (you still with me? ;o)) So I'm actually employed full-time and when I thought about that...I panicked... Not because I'm work-shy, don't get me wrong, I love being useful again! But because I needed to make some birthday cards and realised I just wouldn't have the time (or the energy) during the week. So I sat down and made these two cards really quickly, and then the panic subsided ;o)

This one is for the Friday Sketchers challenge, not sure if it's a current one but I'll go take a look and enter if it is, I love this sketch :D!

It's Project Week!

Well, that's how it's turned out anyway ;o) I made a few little projects and finally finished my Explosion Box, which I started when I visited Moon. She had pre-cut, pre-scored and pre-stamped everything, all I had to do was colour in the images and put everything together! That's my kind of workshop, easy does it! I'm not totally satisfied with the lid yet, obviously it needs a text and something else...but what that is will come to me when it isn't such bloomin' hot weather perhaps! (I'm having a brain-melt ;o))

First of all I made this trio for the new challenge on Double Dutch Challenges, which is make an ATC or an Inchie and Twinchie :D

How cute?!? Got the pattern for this watering can by sending an e-mail to contact@create4fun.nl, you can request it from them if you put "Watering Can" in the subject line! It is so easy to make and will hold a small gift :D

**Edited to add: I get a lot of questions about this template, so I've decided to let you all know that no, I didn't make it myself (purlease, I'm just not that clever!) but I used the one I bought ready made (Pinecone Press Goodie Bag, I got mine from Card Art) as a template**

What did I make this week? Not a lot, as the weather's been lovely here and I've spent some time outdoors :D. I did make a gift wrap for my friend Moon, who had her birthday yesterday. It holds five pressies (or teabags, seed packets etc.) and is so easy and quick to make, it's almost quicker than going out and buying a roll of wrapping paper!

Got my new DoCraft bear stamps in yesterday, and they are cuuuuuute! Hoping for some rain, so I can play with them...okay okay, I take it back, don't all shout at once ;o)

To Copic Or Not To Copic?

That is the question ;o) Well, the answer is, after a loooooot of thinking, and thinking, and some more thinking: definitely to Copic! I bought some, tried them and bought some more, I can't put them down and am spending my days colouring, it's like being back in kindergarten! Only this time I manage to stay between the lines (well, mostly ;o)) I didn't have the Memento ink yet or special paper, so I tried with Versafine ink, which also works but can run a bit. I got the proper ink in today and will try that next time with plain white cardstock. I mean, if that works, why spend a lot of money on paper you don't really need right? I'd rather buy more Copics! Inspired by Cards Only magazine, which always features some cards made without cute stamps, I made these two cards for my brother (30 today, yay!) and my stepdad (birthday last Thursday). Not totally happy with them yet, but then I didn't really have the supplies for these kinds of cards...well, that's what I tell myself, and any excuse to go shopping right? ;o) Anyway, these cards were very quick to make and easy "man" cards, always a difficult one I think!

Miss Anya's bag and hairband are absolutely covered with glitters, but you can't see it very well in the photo.

Made this for the Sugar Bowl challenge, which is a lovely sketch by Lia and the colour option blue/green. I think I've got that covered ;o)

I put a bit too much stuff in the middle (two labels), so it won't stay upright properly, but that's not the way you'd display it anyway right? Just Me And My Stamps :D

I didn't really have a title for this post, but this one sums up nicely what I've been doing this week ;o) I got some Magnolia stamps in the other day (bet you can't guess which punch I also got...) and had a nice play with them. Isn't it funny that such a simple thing can make you so content, happy even? Us crafters are a strange bunch aren't we ;o) Also went to visit my friend Moon this week, and we made an explosion box...of course it isn't finished yet, what with all the talking we had to do ;o), but I'll be able to show you next week :D.

Made this card for my mum, who had an operation on her wrist yesterday. She broke it while...rollerskating! At her age (62...) she should know better really I suppose, but hey, you're as young as you feel! Now I'm thinking I'll make another card, using Tilda with the broken arm instead and the rollerskate charms I got in the other day...think she'll appreciate that? ;o)

What A Girl Wants...

One of the disadvantages of being unemployed (can't think of many advantages actually, apart from having plenty of time to make cards and sit in the sun ;o)) is that there is no money for all the yummy new stamps coming out at the moment! Sugar Nellie have outdone themselves again with some scrumptious new stamps (available from Funky Kits) but it'll be a while before they can come live with me.

Ah well, luckily I've built up something of a collection ;o), and I've used one of my favourite Elisabeth Bell stamps for this Sugar Bowl challenge card. The Sugar Bowl is a sketch challenge blog from now on (yay!!!) and the first sketch is by Marlene (thanks for the great sketch hun!). The option is buttons, which you have to use in order to be in the running for the fabulous prize!

My second card is for the Friday Sketchers challenge, another fab sketch as usual :D!

Glad That's Cleared Up ;o)

I made an Easter card last month but I wasn't happy with it, so I never finished it. Then I made another card last week that I wasn't happy with, and it just sat on my desk for a few days. Along came the new challenge for Double Dutch, and it was as if a lightbulb went on over my head: just put the layouts on to clear cards and solve the colour problems and hey presto, two cards finished in, like, ten minutes! I changed the image on the Easter card obviously, I'm just not that well-organized that I'm going to work a year in advance ;o), but still...I was quite pleased with this easy solution :D.

Meet Belinda Butterfly, a perfectly ordinary girl until she got some clip-on butterfly wings for her birthday from her aunt. Now Belinda thinks she can fly, and her parents have their hands full trying to convince her not to jump off the roof to test this flying theory of hers...let's hope they sleep with one eye open!

And this is Thoughtful Tanya, always thinking of other people less fortunate than she is. Tanya is a little rich girl you see, and always gets everything she desires. But instead of turning into a spoilt brat, as might easily happen, she takes the poor kids in her class to the McDonald's she has at her house, and her own private petting zoo, and then they all watch a movie in Tanya's home cinema (an actual cinema, with a huge screen and seating for fifty people!). The kids all call her Saint Tanya behind her back, but secretly they're very pleased to have such an angelic friend ;o)

Sometimes it's so hard to choose which papers to work with, which stamp to pick and which flowers and text to add, I just close my eyes and point to the papers and go from there ;o) Serves me right for "collecting" (sounds better than being greedy, no?) so much yummy stuff! I made these two cards with the same paper, because it was still on my desk and because it's so fab :D!

my mojo? It's up and left, so here I am, sitting in my craft room with, like, a gazillion stamps, mountains of paper and absolutely NO IDEA of what to do with it all! It's very frustrating, but luckily the weather is nice, so instead of staying sitting at my desk I go and enjoy the sunshine ;o) I do have one little thing to show you, it's the new challenge over on Double Dutch: make a teabag holder :D. I made mine with an Easter theme, I love Easter! Unfortunately, no other Easter cards this year, due to my mojo being on vacation ;o)

One Card And One Award :D

I've been very busy this week, but with some things that I can't show you yet...don't you just hate it when people say that ;o), but it's my explanation for why I only have one card to show you this week! It's my example for the new challenge over on Double Dutch, which is a sketch :D.

I've used a lovely Whiff Of Joy stamp (the sponsor of the challenge, by the way!), a Daisy Bucket sentiment, Dream Street papers and Daisy D's flowers and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I had a very good week :D! A new card kit arrived with these gorgeous papers in it, so I made three cards with it and I'm very pleased with them :D. Job hunting-wise the week was less successful, no job in sight yet...but I'll keep on trying!

Made this card for the new challenge over at The Sugar Bowl blog, which is Mother's Day cards/creations. In the UK they're slightly ahead with Mother's Day, it's this Sunday, so it's nice to have my card finished for "our" Mother's Day on 10 May already :D! Thank you for making me so efficient Sugar Bowl Sweeties ;o)!

And I made this one for the Whiff of Joy Monday Challenge blog, which is a lovely sketch that I'll be using more often! Unfortunately, as the title of the blog suggests, the challenge didn't run from Monday to Monday, but Wednesday to Wednesday, so I'm too late and their new challenge is green...let's see if I have some green papers somewhere ;o)

Meet Lovely Lacey, the object of the affections of all the boys at her high school ;o). They vie with each other to carry her book bag, bring her lunch tray to the table and of course sit next to her (if they were allowed to, they'd feed her too!) and to shoot deathly glances at every teacher who so much as dares to ask Lacey a difficult question ;o). Lacey enjoys all the attention but the boys get no more from her than a kiss on the cheek as a thank you, she's just not that kind of girl ;o)

Tiptoe Through The Tulips ;o)

Wouldn't you just know it! I have all the time in the world to make cards, but I had absolutely no inspiration this past week :o( Had to alter a toilet roll for the new challenge over on Double Dutch, and that turned out okay, but after that...zilch! Yesterday I went shopping with the gift certificates I got from my colleagues at my leaving dinner, and I picked up some Magnolia stamps and some delicious paper, and voila, a card is born :D! Let's hope this is the end of the drought ;o)

This is Tanya with Tulips, who moved to a new house with her family last month. The house has a wonderful garden, filled with the most beautiful flowers you can imagine, in every colour of the rainbow :D. Unfortunately for those flowers, they weren't tulips... I say weren't, because one night, when her family was asleep, Tanya dug up all the flowers in the garden and threw them over the fence into the neighbours' garden (why let them go to waste, right ;o)) and planted hundreds and hundreds of tulip bulbs! Her parents were maaaaaad when they got up in the morning, but now that the tulips are blooming they can forgive Tanya her deed, as their garden is beautiful once more ;o) According to Tanya, if it ain't a tulip, it ain't a proper flower...she must have some Dutch ancestors ;o).

Got my Gorjuss stamps (from Sugar Nellie) in the other day, and they truly are just gorgeous! I haven't put them down yet ;o), and they've helped me out of my inspiration slump. Also, they keep me busy between job-hunting and rejections...my own personal pep-squad!

Although they're all gorgeous, this one's my favourite...shhh, don't tell the others!

I made this box, containing chocolate caramels, for Tracy over at Funky Kits (where they sell the Sugar Nellie range), she's broken her ankle and needs cheering up!

After "one of those weekends when everything goes right" automatically follows a weekend when nothing does...it's sod's law isn't it! I had a lot of trouble making these cards and the cute little box, everything I touched turned to...well, not gold, let's put it that way ;o)

Hi everyone! I've had a very busy weekend, crafting and having a ball :D. Don't know what the weather was like over where you live, but over here it was rain, rain and oh, more rain! Perfect weather to finish the project I'd started during a craft club gathering a couple of weeks ago! It was so much fun, and Carmen had thought of a great project for us, but what a lot of work...if I ever have another week to spare, I might make another though, they're great fun :D! Secret Cards

Don't you just LOVE Valentine's Day?!? I do, even though I don't get any "romantic" cards (well, maybe this year, fingers crossed ;o)) I love to swap Valentines with friends and family. Silly, maybe, but why not let someone you care about know that they're special to you, right? ;o) Take my friend Moon, for instance. I've never met her, we know each other only from the internet (forums, blogs, e-mails etc.) and from talking on the phone about three times a week! Isn't it funny how you can get on so well with someone you've never met? Well, I may have made her a card for Valentine's, but I wouldn't be able to show it here obviously, so I might do that next week :D.

In the meantime, here's the notebook I made for the new Double Dutch challenge (anything but a card) and a card I made a few weeks ago for a swap (someone sent me paper and embellishments and I had to make a card with it and send it back).

This is Studious Sally, a real smarty pants who skips grades like most girls skip rope ;o) She is 13 years old and starting university in September! Sally is as organized about her life as she is about her studies, and she's already bought all her books, notepads, pencils and everything else she'll need in September... She also always carries around a ruler, pencil, sketchbook and brush, for she is a great artist too and likes to wander round the woods and meadows, sketching the wildlife. Oh, to be that young and accomplished...let's hope she doesn't forget to enjoy normal teenage life every once in a while ;o)

Have you met Sonya yet? With her sled she helps out those who need her most: people struggling home through the snow with bags full of shopping, kids who are so poor they don't have sleds but do like to play outside in the snow, ski-ers who've broken a limb and need to get down off the mountain: Sonya's always there! I don't know how she does it, but she's a miracle worker ;o)

Be Mine, Valentine!

Good news and bad news this week...I'll start with the bad: I was told that my contract isn't going to be renewed and I'll be out of a job from 1 March :o(. So I'll be jobhunting again, please keep your fingers crossed! The good news is that the blood test came back clean, it was just a reallllly prolonged tummy virus after all, thank goodness!

Anyway, it's raining Valentine challenges this week, an excuse for me to get my Basic Grey Bittersweet papers out again (yes yes, I can hear you groaning, but it's just too delish :D) and get into the Valentine mood :D. Unfortunately I only had time for two challenges, here they are.

I made this cute box for the Sugarbowl challenge, which is Love & Romance :D. The box was originally filled with instant soup packets and I took it apart, made it a little larger and tada :D! Aren't us crafters resourceful ;o) I'm going to fill the box with heart-shaped chocolates and give it to this guy I like (well, in my dreams I will, because in real life I don't have the nerve!)

And here's one I made for the Basic Grey Challenge, which was a sketch and also: my first Valentine card! Hmmm, who shall I send it to....;o)

Well, my computer crashed last year so I only have one folder now, and in it were these two cuties: my cats Minou and Kyra :D. Last summer they made a lovely, cool, comfortable bed in my washing basket. They could look out the window and bird-watch and they've been bugging me all winter to make their washing-basket-bed! ;o)

Just One Of Those Weekends...

Where everything went how it was supposed to go: inspiration came and stayed over at the weekend and we had fuuun! I used up some long forgotten but beautiful paper from my stash, dusted off some old stamps and inked up some new ones and everything I wanted to make got made! All in all: YAY!

This first card I made for the challenge over at The Sugarbowl blog. The challenge was to use three scrap papers, three different types of embellishments (mine were flowers, decorative pearls and ribbon) and, for an extra entry into the draw, three Sugar Nellie stamps :D.

Then I made this one for the Basic Grey challenge, which was to use two scrap papers, three brads, one ribbon plus bow and a button :D. I love these "recipe" challenges, you don't realise how much paper and stuff you pile onto a card until you can use only a certain amount of stuff!

Next I made these cards for my second cousins, twins who are having their birthday next Sunday. I usually make them the same card with the same image, but mirrored. Forgot to mirror it so used different images, and why not, the girls don't look anything alike anyway ;o)

This is Honest Abeline, a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve! Abeline will never tell a fib and always speaks her mind. That does create some awkward situations, like when her mother asked her what Abeline thought of her new hairdo, or when her dad "suprised" her with the new Take That CD, adding that he thought she'd like it because it was her favourite band...luckily people generally appreciate her honesty, and all her little friends know exactly what to expect from Abeline!

And this is Fanny Fib, who can tell fibs till she's blue in the face! Whether to get her sister Abeline out of trouble (when Abeline told the police officer that they had crossed the street against the lights), to get herself out of a pickle ("but miss, my dad was painting the stairs and when he was done, I couldn't go upstairs anymore to fetch my homework!") or because she doesn't want to run errands for her mum ("I have such a sore head mummy"), Fanny always has a little white lie to hand ;o)

Bitten By The Bug

If you can't beat them, join them! I've tried to get rid of the tummybug by setting the craft bug on it, but alas, it didn't work ;o) Went to see the doctor this afternoon and he suspects either a really persistent tummy virus or an inflammation somewhere, so I have to have a blood test on Friday. Let you know how that turns out next week...in the meantime, here's what I made :D

This is Marvelous Moon, Erica's friend. A very nice, sweet girl who's always there for you and who's a little mad, just like Erica ;o)

A Very Basic Weekend ;o)

Well, Basic Grey, that is! I got a card kit in the post on Tuesday that contained the new Basic Grey Bittersweet, so I knew what I was going to do this weekend! The four-day wait was torture... ;o) But anyway, here are my creations:

I made this one as an example for the Double Dutch challenge, which is circle cards

I originally made this one for the Basic Grey Challenge (it's their sketch), but that challenge ended on Saturday...I'm such a durr brain sometimes ;o) I'm entering it now for the Penny Black challenge, which is colour scheme pink/brown.

And this one's just because, no challenges attached ;o) The picture is terrible, I'll make a better one next weekend, if the weather is nicer then...
